Kiva Footprint

Peace Club's second individual to receive one of our loans:  Juma.

10-12-11

Amount Loaned:  $50

Juma is a single man with one child who is still too young for school. He owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. His greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past four years, Juma has operated a retail shop business, selling to his neighbors and passers-by. He faces the major challenge of competition from other retail shop operators. Juma dreams of succeeding in business and living a better life.
With this loan of 30,000 KES, he wants to purchase bundles of maize flour, sugar and washing detergents. He decided to join Kiva partner, Yehu, to access loans to boost his business.
